Super Round 2023

All roads led to Melbourne for the supercharged 2023 Super Round presented by Fiji Airways in March, 2023.

All 12 teams converged on Melbourne's AAMI Park for a three-day Rugby-Fest on Friday 3 March to Sunday 5 March. Fans from all over descended on AAMI Park to witness 6 action-packed games over 3 days.

One of the best spots to have taken in the rugby and the atmosphere all weekend long was at Budgy Beach situated above the halfway line. The Budgy Beach brought to you by Budgy Smuggler boasted a near-perfect view of all six matches with giveaways and prizes to be all weekend long.

The opening night saw the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific Champions, the Crusaders play the Highlanders in the first game of the round, followed by the home side Melbourne Rebels against the Hurricanes.

AAMI Park was also taken over on Friday evening with the guaranteed party starters Space Cadet and KLP entertaining the fans.

The electric atmosphere continued into Saturday with the Pasifika festival taking place in and around the ground. Pasifika brought fans, traditional food, modern dance performance and a live performance by Australian hip hop stars HP Boyz.

On the turf, Moana Pasifika got their chance to play their first Super Round fixture against last year’s semi-finalists the Chiefs before the Fijian Drua played the Waratahs.

The final doubleheader on Sunday saw a repeat of last year’s epic semi-final encounter between the Blues and the Brumbies before an all-Australian affair between the Western Force and the Queensland Reds.

The final day of the round at AAMI Park hosted the ultimate Sunday Session with The Fabulous Caprettos performing some of Australian rock music’s most memorable hits. Aria Hall-of-Famers, Daryl Braithwaite and Russell Morris will join forces with music giants Jack Jones (Southern Sons) and Rai Thistlethwayte (Thirsty Merc) performing their greatest hits for what promises to be an extraordinary day of music.
