World Title Fight: Kambosos Jr. vs Lomachenko
Australia’s fighting emperor and former unified world champion, George Kambosos Jr. was on a mission for a new belt. Standing in his way was a three-division world champion Ukrainian boxing legend Vasilliy "The Matrix" Lomachenko, who was looking to add another triumphant chapter to his Hall of Fame career.
Lomachenko and Kambosos clashed at a sold out RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia making it the biggest attended sporting event for the venue.
Vasilliy "The Matrix" Lomachenko was successful in the bout claiming the vacant IBF lightweight world title, defeating Kambosos Jr. in dominating fashion in the 11th round via TKO.
In an earlier world title fight on the undercard, Cherneka "Sugar Neekz" Johnson dethroned Nina Hughes for the WBA bantamweight world title. The fight was no short of controversy as the ring announcer incorrectly awarded Nina Hughes the victory before rectifying his decision.
To start the main card, Pedro Guevara took out a close split-decision victory over Andrew Moloney to see him take out the interim WBC super flyweight world title.
